Emoticon Question

Hey everyone. I have the March, 2004, update of JAWS 5.0 and MSN Messenger 5 something. I can send people emoticons through the list, accessible by pressing Ctrl Shift M. When I send these, JAWS tells me what they are. However, when reading instant messages in a conversation log or using the hot keys for message reading, it merely represents the emoticons with graphics and does not recognize them. Is there any remedy for this? Thanks.

I'm no JAWS expert, but I thought of this the other day. Go into your dictionary and learn what all the emoticons are on the webpage from MSN Messenger. Then, put them in your JAWS Dictionary to replace them with words like replace (S) a capital S in perentheses with moon and (*) an asterisk/star in perentheses with star and so on.

Leaffan my friend...
I can help you out here.
Melodica nice suggestion but no that's very complex... let me think... yes go to an instant message window and press alt V.
then check the check box that says enabel emodicons or whatever it says... if that does not help then I do not know what to tell ya
Hope that helps!

Thanks Kerry. I knew there must have been a verbosity option hidden somewhere! I shall investigate. Talk to you on there soon, more than likely. Or here with quicknotes. Or somewhere. LOL
